God is infinite.

God is infinite...God is personal...

Those are such profound statements to me because the two of them are to the absolute extreme of their meaning. God is the creator of the universe. He is beyond anything we could even wrap our minds around. God is. No matter what He gives to us, He is never lacking anything because He is infinite...there are no limitations. Psalm 90:2 states that from the beginning to end, God is God. Yet as infinite as He is, He is a personal God. He created us in His image, and He is pursuing relationship with each of us, not because He needs us, but because He WANTS us. He LOVES us so incredibly, and all He wants is to share that love in fullness. His identity is not in how He relates to us, it's how He relates to Himself. Because He is trinity, He already experiences true fullness of love. Our identity however, is based on His love for us. To experience true freedom, and fullness of life, we need Him...

Genesis 1:16 shows that God created the stars...with one simple statement, "he also made the stars." To think of how complex our universe is, and how short that statement is...now think of the fact that the rest of the Bible is based on the redemption of man...it really puts things into perspective. Above all of His creation, He loves US. He wants relationship with US. Again, our God is a personal God, who loves us intimately. He dances over us. He delights in us. One glance of our eye captivates His heart. His excitement is for us to turn our hearts to Him. He longs for our love.

And even though we fall SO SHORT of His glory, and we cannot even come close to compare to what He truly deserves, He has made a way for us to come to Him, to run to Him. To be his children, and have true relationship with Him. That way is Jesus. He gave His perfect Son, just so that we could have the choice to live, and love Him back. He gives us the choice to accept Him, and experience true fullness for all of eternity...starting NOW. All we need to do is agree that He loves us, understand and confess our sin, accept that He will forgive us, and He will give it to us! It is so profound...so awesome...yet it is so simple.

hey jessimica!

i commend you for sharing what you are doing and learning at your dts... i haven't gotten into a regular enough groove yet to find the time or mental energy to do so... sometime i will... i'm finding it so hard to share... it seems like it's too deep for me to be able to write about.... and also sometimes not enough to make it worth sharing.... it's an odd mix!

one thing i've taken to heart thad you told me before i left for hawaii was to give God all of my expectations... it's so true... God is doing great things but NOTHING of what i expected Him to do... and nothing here is as i expected it... God wants us to live out a new thing, and with that, all our expectations need to go out the door... that is so clear in my world right now...

love ya,
ali
