week two.

so the second week has started, and we're all tryin to get into the routine of things...it's been pretty crazy busy around here, but in a good way :)

we have a lot of new stuff starting this week too, which is REALLY exciting! our outreach teams have started something called Kairos (which is a greek word meaning divine timing...) basically, each team is sent out to a nearby town to do get to know the people, and reach out to them any way we can. we'll be ministering through three different areas...intercessory prayer, serving, and evangelism. our team will be focusing on a town called Makawao, which is a funky little town up-country, that is FULL of art galleries, and crafty shops...it's a really cute place; has a bit of a saloony, cowboy kinda style to it. anyways...our team went out this afternoon and just talked to some of the people on the streets and in the shops...so many were amazed that we were willing to do stuff to help them out for FREE..and we asked if there was anything that we could pray for, and most people had requests! we'll be doin stuff in that town every tuesday afternoon, so it'll be cool to see how God is working on these people over the next couple months!

tonight we are starting our growth groups...which is just focusing on our outreach teams, and getting to know each other and all that fun stuff...we also have outreach prep startin this week, which is just prayer for the areas that we'll be going to, and learning about the cultures and stuff, so that should be pretty cool too...SO MUCH AWESOMENESS!

Lectures have been really good too...last week Andy focused on intimacy, and this week Tom (director of the School of Biblical Foundations and Missions) is speaking on Basic Christianity...it was funny cuz we were like...WHAT is this?? like Christianity 101??? but its good because so often we say what we believe and have strong faith, but when asked why, we can't even back it up with explainable answers! this is just getting down to the doctrine and history of it all...so we're focusng on God, Jesus, Man & Salvation, and the Authority of the Bible. Crazy...i think this is the first time i've been excited to learn doctriney stuff..!

today tom spoke on how INFINITE and UNCOMPREHENDABLE God is...We watched a little movie on space, and the universe, and it was saying that it takes 400 billion years to reach the end of our universe...wow. yet the universe is finite. and God is infinite...try and wrap your head around that? The cool thing is that no matter how much God gives to us...He is NEVER lacking anything because He is infinite...CRAZY!

so yeah...that's some of what we've been learning this week...

last week was so intense and revelationary (if that's a word) that i think i'm still trying to process it all...:) good stuff though

but i'd just like to ask for extra prayer, just that i would stay focused on diving deeper into my relationship with Jesus, because i have found that even though that is my entire agenda, it is easy to get wrapped up in the business, and just start going through the motions...ya know? i just want to make sure that i am putting in as much as i can, and really searching out God and His will for me...so yeah...and thankyou so much for all the prayer support so far :) ya'll are incredible!
