koinonia...

that word means fellowship. or in other terms friendship, relationship, intimacy, communion, participation. God wants this with us. on a daily basis. all the time! But so often we get wrapped up in the crazyiness of life that we forget about God.

I am the MOST guilty of this. Fitting God into MY schedule. I let other things in my life take away from my relationship with Him. I am blindsided by my own desires and, before I know it...spending time with Him is at the bottom of my "to do" list.

Its crazy how it is SO easy for me to fill my time with ANYTHING else in my life...even SLEEP... But its SO hard for me to take time out of my day and give it to God. He's the MOST important One in my life, yet I take advantage of His faithfulness, and only hang out with Him when its good for me.

Imagine a friend or family member doing that to us! Imagine someone taking advantage of our time and only calling us when its convenient, or when they want or need something from us. How frustrating and hurtful would that be..? Yet God is faithful and He is always there, waiting patiently. He is better than the best friend we could ask for..What gives us the right to treat Him with such disrespect?

Relationship is constant...and it requires time and committment! And God above ALL ELSE, deserves our time and committment!

I am now challanging myself...and all of you, to give God the BEST of our time. Before we do anything with our day...and even in while we're doing anything with our day...give God our everything.

And we will see the difference! There will be a huge maturing in our relationships and communication with God if we devote the best of our time to Him. He wants to walk and talk and BE with us, and He will...but its a two way street!

If our desire is to know Him on a deeper level, we need to put in the time and effort. We dont share ourselves with people who take advantage of our friendship and committment, why should He?

2 CORINTHIANS 13:14
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. May
God's love and the Holy Spirit's friendship be yours.

i SO know what you mean. i can relate BIG time. i mean, my whole life and all i talk about revolves around God. I talk about Him to everyone everywhere, yet when it comes down to spending real time with Him, i'll make up every excuse in the book, and when i do make myself sit down to read the Word or pray, i get so distracted and my brain convinces me that i'm not being effective, i'm wasting my time, or that i'm just bored. man, this war really is a battle of Flesh vs Spirit. and it's in those times that it becomes so CLEAR that this really is a battle of Wills. God's will or my own Will. Thanks for the Challenge JessiMica! i will heed the word of the Lord and get off this computer to hang out with the High and Lovely One - i will believe for breakthrough in this area of 'devotion' to Him. amen.
